Our Course Around Keeneland
One of America’s Prettiest Half-Marathons
2014′s RunTheBluegrass Half-Marathon – starting in, finishing in and racing around the iconic, hallowed grounds of the Keeneland Race Course - is guaranteed to take your breath away.
From famed Old Frankfort Pike, to postcard-esque Donamire Farm on Rice Road, to the godlike views as you race along Elkchester Road, there is really only one word to describe our course: exhilarating.
As you near miles 10 and 11, and you’ve essentially conquered all the challenges, you emotionally and geographically feel on top of the world. And when you completely finish, it’s outright euphoric.
There might not be a higher “Runner’s High” in all of racing.
To maximize our Runners Experience, we have seven hydration stations along our course – so you never have to worry about going thirsty. Plus we have several live bands and musicians at key points, too, adding that extra oomph into your step!
And because we are a very rural course, our runners asked us for more spectators (urban races naturally invite neighbors out, while our country roads turn Thoroughbreds into your biggest fans), so we man our course with even more volunteers than normal, to cheer all of you on!
The RunTheBluegrass 7-Miler
In 2014, we are again offering our 7-Mile option! For newer runners, new mothers, walkers or whomever wants to share in the beauty of our Bluegrass!
