Ethereal Brewing in Lexington's historic Disitillery District

Ethereal Brewing Company is a cornerstone of the revival of the James E. Pepper Distillery District. Along with Barrel House Distilling Company, Crank & Boom Ice Cream Lounge, Break Room at Pepper, and now the Goodfellas "Wiseguy" Lounge & Pizzeria -  they are creating one of the coolest hangouts you'll ever find!

This year, our friends at Ethereal want to help us kick off race week with a little Craft Beer schooling, samples, and  snacks from local vendors. You'll also get a tour and tasting a few doors down at the Barrel House Distillery. Lastly, you can grab a bite of Lexington's best ice cream at Crank & Boom, or enjoy a drink at the Goodfellas Wiseguy Lounge, right on the Town Branch Creek.

Kentucky Bourbon Experience with Maker's Mark

Friday, March 31, 10:30am - 3:00pm

Departs from and returns to Keeneland Main Grandstand!

Kentucky generates 95% of all bourbon in the United States. One of these crafters is the historically landmarked Maker's Mark Distillery. Nestled away in Loretto, Kentucky countryside, Maker's Mark Distillery is known for its unique red wax hand-dipped bottle. The hand-dipped bottle was first distributed by T.W. Samuels, in 1958, after six years of a small batch, no rye, aging perfection. In the 1970s, the historic Keeneland Racetrack purchased the first case of Maker's Mark bourbon, and it has been a staple there ever since.

We've planned some fun activities, including bourbon tastings and games on board your luxury coach - along with fabulous tour hosts, lunch and drinks while you travel.

Pay close attention while on your tour, as well. Maker's Mark has provided us with some games and prizes for your return trip to Lexington, as well!

Tour departs from and returns to the South Gate Entrance of the Main Grandstand, where you're luxury coach bus will pick you up and drop you off. There is plenty of parking, right there!

Upon arrival, you'll enjoy a locally catered lunch at Ethereal Brewing, then sample their beers and get a lesson on how its made. You'll also tour Barrel House Distilling Company, a smaller bourbon distillery - and taste their wares! Morning After Recovery Yoga

Sunday, April 2, 9am and 10:30am

Lexington's Campbell House  1375 S. Broadway

"Run Recovery Yoga" or "Yoga for Runners" may be an appropriate name, since the class will be designed around the needs of endurance athletes. We will begin with a series of simple yoga movements to break up lactic buildup and loosen muscles sore from the achievements of your 13.1 Half-Marathon or your 7-Miler.

After gently getting the blood moving, we'll move to the floor for a series of longer, more relaxed postures aimed at releasing tension held deeper in the muscles and ligaments - All about the muscles runners use most, your glutes, hamstrings, quadriceps and IT-band will forget all about mile 9 by the end of this class! Class will be appropriate for both beginner and more experienced yogis.
