State of Kentucky Outline Blue Fill.png

Welcome to the Bluegrass State!

Originally part of Virginia, Kentucky became its own state in the Union in 1792. The Bluegrass region in Central Kentucky quickly became famous for its underground, limestone-filtered water, leading to the birth of America’s Thoroughbred industry and to America’s Bourbon industry.

Over the years, Kentucky has been home to many historical figures, including President Abraham Lincoln… even Jesse James’ own mom!
